I am Ruby Borer, a Year 10 student at Randwick Girls High School and have always loved being a part of our amazing community. I have always had a passion for history and social justice and am an active member of many community organisations in Sydney, including the Sydney Jewish Museum Youth Committee, Habonim Dror, BBYO, and Coogee Synagogue.
As someone who does not go to a Jewish Day School, I understand the importance of Holocaust education and connecting with my Jewish roots, and am honoured to be a part of our amazing community. I have been involved in the community for as long as I can remember and have appreciated every opportunity it has given me. I have also had the opportunity to travel to America for BBYO International Convention 2022, to develop my leadership skills and am passionate about empowering teenagers to take on the responsibility of continuing to share the stories of holocaust survivors and be proud of their Jewish identities. Furthermore, I am also a member of my school’s SRC, debating team and school show.
